Beware of Central Sleep Apnea!

Sleep apnea is when a person stops breathing on and off during sleep. However one of the most dangerous forms of this condition is central sleep apnea, where the body fails to signal the lungs to inhale on a regular basis. When a person doesn’t inhale as they should this means they’re not getting oxygen on a regular cycle as the body needs. This regular cycle of oxygen is so important that the body can and does force itself to breathe even if you consciously try to hold your breath. Central sleep apnea musn’t be ignored.

During periods of central sleep apnea, the heart will respond to this lack of oxygen intake by increasing the heart rate, causing stress and strain to the heart muscles. This is not like increasing your heart rate when you exercise which is good for the body. An increased heart rate during exercise is always accompanied by breathing oxygen in and carbon dioxide out, but not so with central sleep apnea! This unnatural increase of the heart rate can damage the heart itself as it’s working harder but without nourishing oxygen to help out.

It’s believed that central sleep apnea can trigger seizures in the patient. This is caused by the sudden drop in blood oxygen levels, and this occurs whether the person has a seizure disorder or not. Other complications from central sleep apnea include angina and heart attacks as the heart is being damaged with each episode. Also, If breathing is very irregular there can be a build up of toxic carbon dioxide in the bloodstream.

As with central sleep apnea, all forms of sleep apnea should be addressed as quickly and effectively as possible. Obese people need to bring their weight down. A snore pillow can keep the head from falling back and the tongue from blocking the throat and airway. Having a humidifier in the bedroom is good for keeping the sinuses clear. A CPAP machine, which is rather like an oxygen machine that you would see in hospital, can be useful in severe central sleep apnea cases. At any rate, this is not a condition to be ignored or dismissed but should be addressed!

Once harvested, vegetables start deteriorating because they are no longer alive and therefore unable to defend themselves against the oxidative damage that comes from being exposed to the air. At harvest time, a vegetable has only a limited reserve of protective nutrients. But as they continue to respire even after being picked, these nutrients are constantly being used up to protect the vegetable against the oxidative effects of respiration. Proper Vegetable Storage is therefore imperative as a necessary substitute for the defensive measures they would normally undertake on their own. Incorrectly stored vegetables will spoil much more quickly than carefully put-away ones. Proper storage is all about minimizing the vegetable’s respiration rate. Reducing the respiration rate helps retain freshness by conserving the reserves of protective phytonutrients.

Of course, different vegetables have different respiration rates. This is an important factor to consider because the respiration rate determines how fast a vegetable could spoil, even under ideal storage conditions. Respiration rates are measured by how much carbon dioxide is given off in milligrams per kilogram of vegetable every hour at room temperature. Certain vegetables can be stored much longer than others, such as potatoes, which can be stored for up to a whole month without refrigeration, as compared to green beans, which will just about spoil within two or three days without proper refrigeration; potatoes respire at a rate of seventeen milligrams per kilogram per hour, while green beans respire at the rate of one hundred-and-thirty milligrams per kilogram per hour. Refrigeration is the best way to reduce the respiration rate of most vegetables, prolonging their freshness by days and even weeks. It is a great way to retain the vitality of compounds such as Vitamin C. For example, cabbages might lose almost thirty percent of their Vitamin C content in just two days if left at room temperature.

As different vegetables have different respiration rates, it is logical that different vegetables react differently to refrigeration – that is, their rates of respiration are reduced in different amounts. Basically, preservation depends on the type of vegetable, the exact way it is stored in the refrigerator (whether in a plastic container, or wrapped in plastic film, or loose in the refrigerator’s storage bin, or simply left “open” on a rack in the refrigerator), including where in the refrigerator storage takes place (the back of the bottom shelf is commonly the coolest part). Some vegetables, such as potatoes, onions, and eggplants, are actually best stored unrefrigerated, in cool dark environments a little bit below room temperature: fifty to sixty degrees Fahrenheit or ten to sixteen Celsius.

Chiropractic Care During Pregnancy

From the get-go, everyone has had qualms about chiropractic care and its ability to replace any traditional methods of medical care. And yet, here’s a breakthrough for chiropractic medicine as many believe that undergoing chiropractic treatments while pregnant is good for both the mother and the baby inside her womb.

Why Pregnant Women Need Chiropractic Care?

This is an important question that pregnant women need to find an answer to. When a woman becomes pregnant, her body undergoes a variety of physiological and endocrinological changes as the baby inside her womb starts to develop. Due to these changes, the pregnant mother could suffer from cases of misalignment in her joint or spine that results in either one or a combination of the following:

• More prominent curve on her back,
• Enlargement of the abdomen,
• Pelvic changes,
• Changes in posture.

Due to these changes, some women might have difficulty attaining proper balance and alignment. Chiropractic care definitely helps in developing correct posture,it also puts less pressure on your body. Also, misalignment of your pelvis could limit the baby’s development inside your womb.

Is it Safe?

Although it is not fully conclusive that chiropractic care is safe for pregnant women, there are also no contraindications that would prevent women from experiencing such treatment procedures. All trained chiropractors have been briefed about using the procedures on pregnant women, hence it is generally safe.

There are also chiropractors who specialize in chiropractic treatment for pre-natal and peri-natal care for women. Therefore, additional training is required in order to ensure the safety of both baby and mother. Doctors who undergo chiropractic care on pregnant women adjust the intensity of their treatment procedures according to how far into their pregnancy stage the woman is. In some cases, chiropractors suggest stretching and exercise routines that pregnant women can develop for a safer and healthier pregnancy.

Benefits of Pregnancy Chiropractic Care

Before women even undergo labor, the recommendations to undergo chiropractic care helps them in several ways. It includes the following:

• It helps them achieve a healthier pregnancy.

• It will enable women to have better control over symptoms or other conditions associated with pregnancy.

This enhances their efficiency and speed of delivering.

• It provides relief from pain on the neck, back, or joints.

• It helps women avoid the possibility of undergoing cesarean section.

Its Effects During Labor

Aside from the benefits above, chiropractic care offers several other benefits for women during the actual labor, especially in terms of pain management. Chiropractic care helps in achieving more successful delivery therefore you should try to learn that.

Length of Labor

When the human body is subjected to extremely stressful situations, its level of balance and ability to adapt is crucial in determining how the body is impacted by that situation. Cesarean section during delivery happens because body of most women are unable to cope with the stress of delivery. Most of it is caused by misalignment on the pelvis that slows down the descent of the fetus towards the mother’s birth canal. Limited range of motion also affects a woman’s ability to labor more efficiently.

Hence, proper adjustments using chiropractic care enables a woman to address the above problems and significantly reduce the amount of time spent on labor.

Fetal Position

This is another component that will impact labor time. Most chiropractic treatments help adjust the pelvic positioning and in the process correctly places the fetus. That way, it will be easier for the fetus to be delivered easily. Health experts also believe that undergoing chiropractic treatments help avoid the acquisition of any form of back labor.

MENOPAUSE IS NOT A HORMONE IMBALANCE!

Standard Medicine May Have IT ALL WRONG!

The position that the reason for all the menopause symptoms is due to an imbalance of hormones is a superficial perspective and deserves a deeper look. Menopause symptoms may include:

  • hot flashes
  • irregular periods
  • vaginal & urinary changes
  • sleep disturbances
  • feeling overwhelmed
  • weight gain
  • loss of desire
  • craving: sweet carbs, alcohol
  • minor to major depression
  • hair loss
  • ear ringing
  • headaches
  • bloating, nausea
  • worsening allergies
  • bone density loss
  • changes in breath & body odor
  • decreased fertility
  • night sweats
  • changes in appearance
  • fatigue
  • vaginal dryness
  • irritability
  • constipation/diarrhea
  • anxiety/palpitations
  • memory problems & fuzzy thinking
  • fibroids
  • aching joints
  • changes in menstruation
  • changes in sexual desire or function
  • mood swings
  • hair loss/thinning
  • Skin changes

Are these symptoms tied to deficiency of hormones? Could it be systemic? The whole body is may be suffering from top to bottom.

ANOTHER PROPOSAL – UNDERLYING CAUSE:

Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective: Menopause is considered a deficiency condition of the liver and qi (life force). When the blood and energy quality is weak and toxic then all of the organs are not able to perform their job. This condition causes the liver to overheat which rises through the body, wreaking havoc in its path. The heart, lungs, digestion, glands, throat, mouth & teeth, nose, eyes, ears, brain, skin and hair become heated and dried resulting in the symptoms, listed above. In addition, the liver does not filter the blood where it becomes sluggish and clotted.

Because the body is deficient of essential body energy and quality filtered blood, then the glands do not perform normally. Their secretions may be sporadic or non-releasing altogether. When the blood is filtered, normally, enriched then all the body’s organs improve. Gradually, the energy comes back and they are able to function normally. The glandular functions, secrete once again, assisting the body in its healthy function.

The body is not absent of hormones. The blood is clogged like sludge. Glands are not receiving/transmitting essential messages, timely and/or minimally!

Then why do we add or give more hormones. Doesn’t that risk an overload of hormones? Remember when you were a kid and your hormones were super revved. We don’t want to risk going through that again. We have enough hormones. If we nourish our blood, exercise, sleep, manage stress, etc. our hormones come back and supports increased balance.

So if Chinese medicine knows the problem, then what is their answer to this to this deficiency? Look below.

What Restores Normal Hormone Function?

Chinese Medicine Has Had An Answer for this for More Than a 1000 Years!

Traditional Chinese Medicine has 20+ formulas for menopause. But which one is the best? This requires a seasoned Master herbalist to respond to this. While most women fall into 6 major constitution types such as:

  • cold
  • damp
  • deficient
  • hot
  • dry
  • excess

Most menopausal women are a deficient constitution with hot characteristics and benefit 95% of the time from Menopause Comfort. I know that is a little confusing but more info follows. The exception is during the summertime.

Some women, who are more hot than the usual population, require a colder formula, Paramalin, to offset the excess internal heat produced in the liver.

“3000 Years of Chinese Herbal Medicine Provides the Best Menopause Formulation”

While not all women have to experience extreme characteristics of menopause, enough are disturbed that real relief is essential. The herbs, below, balance the hormones-progesterone & estrogen, cool nourish and stimulate the liver. This improves the blood which assists all the organs in the body which further lifts the body’s functioning. The herb selection centers and alleviates the conditions listed above.

These herbs work best for Menopause symptoms by reducing the typical heat signs stemming from the liver managing too much toxicity and/or excess food intake, etc.

Cures For Bacterial Vaginosis

If you are like me then you really just wanted the power to wish a bacterial vaginosis problem away because it seems so hard to get rid of and you don’t even know what you did to get it.

While it could be something you did, it is really hard to know exactly what happened. I like to think that generally, in today’s world we just each such terrible food all the time that our bodies just don’t have the same strong immune system to help fight off bacteria.

So I suggest to start eating really healthy, fresh food, nothing that has been prepared. No restaurant food. No frozen food. Eat fresh, fresh, fresh.

My personal bacterial vaginosis remedy story

There are plenty of women who may have Bacterial Vaginosis and are not even aware that they have this problem. But most women who realize they do have something wrong are first alerted by the terrible odor (Fishy Vaginal Odor)coming from their vagina.

Most try extra washing, scrubbing and even douching, thinking the problem has to do with cleanliness. This is actually the wrong approach and will not solve Bacterial Vaginosis.

You cannot wash BV away. Just will not going to happen. It didn’t start because you were unclean and it won’t go away just because you start washing and douching.

I strongly suggest to fight fire with fire. Start taking loads of good bacteria, called probiotics. This good bacteria can help fight off the bad bacteria that is causing BV.

Want to read more then here is a site with some good info that is not one of those lame government sites that is only going to tell you the same stuff you have heard before. Like what bacterial vaginosis is. Bacterial

BV Treatment

My personal bacterial vaginosis remedy story

It is not this article’s intention to provide specific medical advice to users of this website, instead this article is meant to provide users with information to help them better understand their health. You should consult a doctor before taking any medical advice.

Doing the math is pretty easy and simple. One pound of fat equals 3500 calories. Want to lose a pound a week? Then you need to consume 3500 calories less per week than you use. That is roughly 500 calories a day. By cutting out 500 calories a day from your normal daily diet, while keeping your activity level the same, you can lose approximately one pound a week.

All right – that doesn’t sound like much, especially if you’re more than 25 pounds overweight. Study after study has shown, though, that those people who lose weight gradually – at a rate of 1-2 pounds per week -are far more likely to keep the weight off and maintain a normal weight for a lifetime.

So how much exactly IS 500 calories? If you’re going to reduce your daily intake by 500 calories, it helps to know what you need to cut out, right? Here is how you lose 500 calories a day

*You can use milk in your coffee instead of creamer. Savings? 50 calories in each cup.

* You really don’t need butter on the baked potato. Savings? 100 calories

*Drink fruit flavored water rather than soda. Savings? 200 calories

* Have a salad instead of that tempting Big Mac. The Big Mac equals 460 calories. A fresh salad with a light dressing? Under 100! Savings? 360 calories

*You can walk right by that bag of potato chips. The average snack bag of chips has over 300 calories. Savings? 300 calories

*Eat corn on the ear. There is 165 calories for every 1 cup serving of canned corn. An ear of corn has 85. Savings? 80 calories.

* Switch to low-fat cream cheese on your bagel. Savings? 90 calories per ounce.

* Love those fries and can’t give them up? Switch to the thicker steak cut fries rather than the thinner ones. The thinner frech fries absorb a whole lot more oil than the thicker ones. Savings? 50 calories per 4 ounce serving

If you want to look at losing weight from an exercise perspective then what you can do is up your activity level by 500 calories and you will be able to lose a pound a week. How easy can that be? Have a look:

* Take a half-hour walk around the park. Aim for a pace that’s a little faster than a stroll, but not fast enough to be breathless. Burn:160 calories.

*Go for a bicycle ride. Aim for about five miles total and if you feel like it you can take on a few moderate hills. Burn: 250 calories

* Go out and dance your heart out. The longer you are out dancing on the dance floor, you wont be at the table drinking those high calorie fruit drinks and the more calories you will burn. Dancing that makes you breathless and warms up your body will net you a nice calorie savings. Burn: 400 calories per hour

* Swimming is great for you, and a lot of fun, too. The water resistance means you burn more calories, and you avoid the stress impact on joints from aerobics, dancing or walking. A few laps as a slow crawl is wonderufl-if you can get up to an hour you’ll be doing even better! Burn: 510 calories

* Get out into your garden. An hour of working in your garden (i.e. bending over, and stretching) can burn up to as many calories as a brisk walk. Burn: 250 calories.

*Play a game of tennis. Hook up with a friend for a weekly tennis game and you’ll be amazed at the difference. An hour of vigorous tennis is one of the most effective calorie burners that are around. Burn: 800 calories

Keep in mind that all of the exercise and calorie numbers are based on a woman’s weight of 130 pounds. If you weigh more then you will definately burn more fat. Would you like an additional bonus to burning calories through exercise? When you exercise, you build muscle by converting it from fat. Do you know which kind of body tissue burns more calories-even when your not excersing? I’ll give you three guesses. You got it – your body uses more energy to maintain and feed muscle than it does fat.

For best results, mix and match food savings with exercises that burn calories. You must keep in mind that if you eat less than 1000 calories a day for more than just a few days that you will convince your body that it is starving and it will slow your metabolism down. Keep calorie ranges reasonable, and consult a doctor if you want a quicker, more drastic weight loss.

How to Reap Maximum Benefits Of Yoga

yoga positions, as we all know, is meant to unite the body, mind, and spirit through yoga exercises such as meditation. Yoga practitioners believe that uniting the mind, body and spirit creates inner harmony and that “we are not this body” so people ought to take care of it. Therefore, the benefits of yoga are believed by many yogists to be very therapeutic.

yoga position is also regarded to make a person aware of his or her body’s alignment and movement patterns. Delving into a yoga exercise makes the body more fluid and facilitates in relaxing the mind and tired muscles even in the middle of a stressful environment. This is one of the primary reasons why people want to begin practicing yoga.

Yoga also contains is ancient principles, theories, and observations about the mind and body connection which is now being verified by modern medicine. Extensive research has been done to look at the many health benefits associated with yoga from the yoga positions (asanas) to yoga breathing and meditation. Focus and perspicacity are the usual benefits when it comes to yoga.

The series of yoga position known as asanas work by carefully stretching the muscles. This maximizes the range of movement and boost lubrication in the joints. The result is a sense of relief throughout the body. Yoga stretches not only the muscles but all of the body’s such as tendons, ligaments, and the fascia sheath that enfolds the muscles. It doesn’t matter what level of yoga a person practices, one can likely gain the healthy benefits in a short period of time.

Many of the poses, such as downward dog and tree pose, mold upper-body strength. As people get older, this becomes crucial. The standing poses indeed build strength in the abdominal muscles and hamstrings. With enhanced flexibility and strength comes improved posture. Most standing and sitting poses develop and maintain posture, letting you remain confidently erect in standing tall.

Another benefit of yoga is boosted body awareness. People are more finely tuned in telling if they slouch so they can adjust their postures. Other physiological benefits of yoga include an increase in immunity, balance, and energy levels. It also improves sleep, reaction time, eye-hand coordination, and dexterity and normalizes weight, endocrine and gastrointestinal functions.

Most forms of yoga position also accentuate the deepening of your inhalation. This stimulates the relaxation reaction. Because of the deep, aware breathing that yoga entails, the respiratory system often improves. This in turn can perk up endurance and athletic performance. Some yoga styles use particular meditation techniques to hush the voices in your head that often triggers stress. Other yoga techniques rely on deep breathing techniques to focus your mind on the breathing. Suddenly your mind becomes calm and relaxed when this occurs.

Yoga has been connected with decreased glucose, cholesterol, triglyceride, and sodium levels as well as heightened functions of the immune system. Hemoglobin, total serum protein, and lymphocyte counts are increased.

Yoga has been said to raise spiritual awareness. It can also help improve marriages and relationships, strengthen memory and learning efficiency, depth perception, somatic and kinesthetic awareness, and enhance social skills as well.

3 Ways Pharmacies Can Keep Customers Happy

After a visit to the doctor’s office, Wendy stopped at an NKY pharmacy to get some medication. There were several NKY pharmacies on her drive from the doctor’s office to her home, but she always went to the same one. She had always gone there and she really liked everything about the place. Growing up, her family had gotten all their prescriptions filled there, so she had a long standing relationship with all the people who worked there throughout her lifetime. She liked them and trusted them and felt as if her needs were very important to them. As she thought about it she identified several reasons why she felt she would always do business with them. In fact these are several items all medication shops should keep in mind.

Wendy realized that she really appreciated the excellent service those at her medication store gave her. It was very rare for her to feel that anyone in a customer service industry actually cared about her. It used to be that folks in that industry worked hard to earn the respect and trust of their clients. Of late, however, Wendy felt like those in most customer service fields thought of her as nothing more than a nuisance that interrupted their conversation with a co-worker. Perhaps, it was because Wendy was getting older, but she just felt undervalued by many so called service providers. However, time and time again, as she filled a variety of prescriptions, she received excellent customer service. They asked if she had any questions and then they took time to patiently answer any she had. They reassured her that the medication she was taking was suitable for her symptoms. They gave her dietary suggestions that wouldn’t cause unwelcome interaction with her medications. The bottom line is, Wendy felt like they were there for the sole purpose of helping their customers. This made her feel very loyal to these hard workers and to the business they worked so hard to maintain.

Another thing Wendy appreciated when it came to having her prescriptions filled was the delivery option her medication shop provided. She could remember one time specifically where her doctor had called in a prescription and Wendy had neglected to stop on her way past. When a tech from the shop called to remind her that her prescription was waiting, Wendy, who was feeling absolutely horrible just didn’t feel up to driving over to get it. The tech suggested she take advantage of the delivery service and before you know it, Wendy had her prescription in hand and would soon benefit from its powers. Perhaps some would view this as a little thing, but to Wendy it showed that they would do anything to put their customer first.

The last thing Wendy thought of that made her appreciate her medication provider was the online prescription refill and automated phone refill service they offered. How much easier could it be for Wendy to get her prescriptions in no time flat? She loved not having to be on hold, waiting for a tech to pick up the phone only to perform the simple task of pulling up her processing information. She loved that by accessing her information through the web or by phone, and using the refill code on her prescription bottle, she could cut out the middle man and get the ball rolling on a needed refill order.

There are many factors behind yeast infection. These include wearing tight jeans or underclothes and certain antibiotics such as steroids and contraception tablets. To complicate things, this is common among girls particularly during child bearing age. This begins with a slight itch in the vagina. The sole good news is that this can be treated and there are certain things you can use to battle this at home.

You can use Cranberry pills. This is sold over the counter in the drug store. What makes it so effective is that the ingredients help the body’s immunological system to battle back the dissemination of the fungus until this once more reaches ordinary levels.

Another choice will be to use apple cider vinegar and applying some on a cotton ball. Those who choose to try it should be expecting to feel a slight sting after applying but this may be countered by mixing it with a little garlic. Naturally, this vital organ will also smell. You can fix this by diluting in some water.

Yogurt is another option. You’ll only need to get a smallspoon and then apply this at once in the affected area or on a tampon first. If you donot have yogurt, use curds. This should be applied twice a day till the infection is gone.

You may mix olive leaf and grape fruit seed extract together with water and then apply this employing a cotton bud. You can also get the same result using raw garlic juice. Just rub this over your fingers and then rub it over the affected area.

Whichever you use, you must never have sex because this is an STD or sexually spread disease that would also cause issues for your male partner. If treatment for yeast infection takes roughly a week, this may lasts longer than you anticipated.

If treatment for yeast infection is not working, then it is time to try something that can be given by your health practitioner. There are creams, tablets or suppositories which are sometimes endorsed rather than using oral medication.

One thing ladies should keep in mind about yeast infection is that though this is due to a fungus known as Candida, this is typically present in the body. If you are not experiencing any symptoms that are related to it such as itching, soreness or burning then it should not be treated because it is not an illness.

Except for the fact that yeast infection is curable, there also are methods to stop this from ever happening. The best is to drink a glass or 2 of milk daily as this guarantees that there won’t ever be an overgrowth of yeast down there. You must also avoid wearing tight pants or undies. If you go swimming, get out of the wet swimming costume straight away. Donot also use douches, female sprays, scented toilet tissue and deodorant tampons.

You can fight yeast infection at home or with the aid of your health practitioner because treatment is different for ladies who are pregnant. Sometimes you don’t even have to anything as this will clear up on its own. However, if this should happen again, then the doctor should do a more thorough examination and use hormone therapy to reverse or treat it.

If you like to have more information on Vaginal Yeast Infection, I urge you to visit Yeast Infection Cure site or vaginal yeast infection Page.
